My Current .zshrc

Updated: 18 07 2020

Really should leverage zsh more…but here we are

File: ~/.zshrc

# If you come from bash you might have to change your $PATH.
export PATH=$HOME/bin:/usr/local/bin:$PATH

# Path to your oh-my-zsh installation.
export ZSH="$HOME/.oh-my-zsh"

# For brew, at least
export PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH

# NVM Stuff
# export NVM_DIR="$HOME/.nvm"
# . "$(brew --prefix nvm)/nvm.sh"

export NVM_DIR="$HOME.nvm"
[ -s "$NVM_DIR/nvm.sh" ] && . "$NVM_DIR/nvm.sh"  # This loads nvm
[ -s "$NVM_DIR/bash_completion" ] && \. "$NVM_DIR/bash_completion"  # This loads nvm bash_completion

# Add RVM to PATH for scripting. Make sure this is the last PATH variable change.
export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/.rvm/bin"

# NVM Stuff
# export NVM_DIR="$HOME/.nvm"
# . "/usr/local/opt/nvm/nvm.sh"

# Set name of the theme to load --- if set to "random", it will
# load a random theme each time oh-my-zsh is loaded, in which case,
# to know which specific one was loaded, run: echo $RANDOM_THEME
# See https://github.com/robbyrussell/oh-my-zsh/wiki/Themes
# ZSH_THEME="robbyrussell"
# ZSH_THEME="powerlevel9k/powerlevel9k"
ZSH_THEME="agnoster"

# Set list of themes to pick from when loading at random
# Setting this variable when ZSH_THEME=random will cause zsh to load
# a theme from this variable instead of looking in ~/.oh-my-zsh/themes/
# If set to an empty array, this variable will have no effect.
# ZSH_THEME_RANDOM_CANDIDATES=( "robbyrussell" "agnoster" )

# Automatically switch node versions when a directory has a `.nvmrc` file

    nvm use default
    fi
}
# Add the above function when the present working directory (pwd) changes
add-zsh-hook chpwd load-nvmrc
load-nvmrc

I have also modified ~/.oh-my-zsh/themes/agnoster.zsh-theme

It now only shows the last 2 segments of the dir path

# Dir: current working directory
prompt_dir() {
  # org:
  # prompt_segment blue $CURRENT_FG '%~'

  # Shorten the Displayed Directory Path to the last 2 Directories
  # https://medium.com/@shandou/how-to-shorten-zsh-prompt-oh-my-zsh-14185f3e7ab7
  prompt_segment blue $CURRENT_FG '%2~'

}

Remember to Reload the config after making changes
